Xi'an, China -- Xi’an is a large city and capital of Shaanxi Province in central China. Once known as Chang’an (Eternal Peace), it marks the Silk Road’s eastern end and was home to the Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties' ruling houses. In Xi’an’s surrounding plains are the famed Bingmayong (Terracotta Warriors), thousands of life-size, hand-molded figures buried with China’s first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. My husband has seen the Terracotta Warriors "up close and personal." Said it was one of the most awesome things he'd ever seen. A couple of years ago they brought some to the US on exhibition and we saw them at the National Geographic Society in DC. They are indeed, something to see. (Pardon the long-winded post.)
